Education and school visits
We guide school classes through the history of Uppsala Castle.
School and preschool
The Castle Museum, or Slottshistoriska, at Uppsala Castle can be used as a supplement to education on history, cultural heritage, and social studies for middle schools, elementary schools, and preschools, both inside the castle and in its historical surroundings.
All our school activities are available for booking through the system Utbudsbokning via Uppsala municipality. Regardless of the size of the group, kindly book your visit in advance, even if you plan on exploring the castle on your own without a guide.
Students gain new perspectives
We want to inspire curiosity and increase understanding for history by connecting it to the students’ own world. Through engaging examples from the long history of the castle, we want to create a deeper connection to our shared cultural heritage and inspire contemplation on past, present, and future.
Our activities are connected to the Swedish school curriculum and aim to give students new perspectives and strengthen their understanding of our history.
What we offer
We offer guided activities and tours, customized to the age and level of the students. You may also visit the castle with your students on your own. Activities may vary throughout the semester, and certain activities are limited to certain time periods. All practical information regarding your visit, including instructions for booking, are available under the teachers’ tab.
For schools and preschools located in Uppsala, all tours and activities are free of charge. For all others, the price of admission is 800 SEK per class.
